I generate lots of scraps and waste paper in my cardmaking. I usually end up discarding most of it. But in an effort to reduce my waste this year, I am discarding less and using more of my cardmaking scraps. It can be difficult because keeping scraps can get messy and overwhelming but I am willing to try. Comment below if you will join me for this challenge.

Today’s card is simple but eye catching due to the glitter background used. When using glitter as a background you can easily “do too much” but this card is just right with its balance of colour and white to offset the glitter.
This card came about as I was cutting letters from a gold glitter cardstock that I love . I used my die cutting machine to cut the letters and the background that was left had so much glitter and was so beautiful to me that I chose to use it in a project. I just could not bring myself to throw it away .

Here is what you will need:
- Foam Tape
- Coloured cardstock
- White cardstock
- die cut panel from glitter paper or patterned paper
- Word Stamp or printed words

Here are the instructions:
- Cut your glitter background down to the size that you would like your card to be. I used a 6.25 inches by 4 inches panel.
- From your coloured cardstock, cut strips that are large enough to fill the empty spaces on your glitter panel and glue the coloured strips to the the back of your panel so the spaces are filled
- Cut four 0.4 by 1.5 inch rectangles from white cardstock and stamp the desired words on these tags. If you do not have stamps print the words on cardstock and cut to this size. If you have amazing handwriting just write the greeting on. I chose to mirror the words that were on the background for my sentiments.
- Place these rectangles on a strip of foam tape right above the cutout words.
- Mount your card on a side-folding card base
- Your card is complete!
