Mixing supplies from different companies

Hi friends,

When making cards, do you stick to one manufacturer or do you like mixing supplies from different companies? I am a big proponent of using the supplies you have so I’ve always ended up mixing supplies, initially based on necessity because I had limited supplies; but later it naturally became a part of my creative process. I love mixing supplies and this card is the perfect example.

I used the Ellen Hutson Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut stitching holes into the card front and stitched with different colors of embroidery thread. I used all 6 strands for a fuller look.

I had this birthday sentiment that was previously cut using my Cricut machine and I attached to a vellum backing which I fussy cut to outline the letters. I arranged these gold glitter foliage from Spellbinders on top of the background and behind the birthday die cut. I then adhered everything to the card front using glue.

I added puffy gold letter stickers to spell wishes and that completes my card!

I hope you feel inspired to try mixing your supplies from different companies! You can make so many amazing and unexpected creations this way.

Happy crafting!

Love, Ibby
