5 Simple cards with easy threaded details : A series : Card 1

Hello lovelies,

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Today I am sharing the first in a series showcasing quick and easy ways to make thread the highlight of your cards. I understand that many persons would like to add thread to their cards but stitching seems tedious. I’m so excited to share this card with you because it is super easy and this technique is very versatile. You can use it behind a word or shape die cut or on an uncut panel. There are so many possibilities when using thread to colour.

Here is what you will need:

foam tape, black cardstock, white cardstock, Rainbow thread, Shine Die from Erin Lee Creative

Here are the instructions:

  1. To begin, cut a 3.25 x 6.25 inch, a 4.75 x 1.5 inch and a 6.5 x 6.25 inch piece of white cardstock
  2. Fold the largest piece of cardstock in half to form the card base ensuring that the width after folding is 6.25 inches
  3. Use rainbow thread to wrap the smallest panel until it is covered to your liking with thread.
  4. Add foam tape on the back of the threaded piece to secure threads and cut off any excess thread.
  5. Adhere this piece to the center of the card front using the foam tape attached.
  6. Cut the Shine die from Erin Lee Creative out of Black cardstock 4 times and out of silver glitter cardstock once.
  7. Glue all the “shine” die cuts together and then glue these to the front of the silver diecut to produce a silver offset on the sentiment.
  8. Adhere the sentiment to the front of the card along with black gems.
  9. Adhere the card front to the card base.
  10. Your card is complete!

Check out my YouTube video below to see exactly how it was done. Watch in HD!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this was helpful.

Stay tuned for the next in the series.

Love ,

Creative Ibby
