Stenciling and Heat Embossing with Texture Paste, Patterned Paper and Line art florals – Hello Card

Hello lovelies,

This card looks very simple but it showcases a few techniques such as stencils, heat embossing, texture and die cutting.

I used pattern paper from the Bible journaling stack by recollections which I bought at a Michaels store in the USA. You can definitely order this stack online. The floral die cuts were done on my Cricut explore machine and were a struggle because my mats are no longer sticky so intricate die cuts are either hit or miss.

Let’s get into the card.

Here is what you will need:

  • Cross stencil
  • Texture paste
  • palette knife (or dinner knife)
  • Holographic embossing powder
  • Heat gun (You can’t use a blowdryer!!!!)
  • 2 Diecut flowers
  • Stamp for sentiment (or print your sentiment using your computer)
  • Patterned paper
  • White cardstock (for card base)

Here are the instructions:

  1. Cut your pattern paper to 4.25 by 5.5 inches
  2. Use your stencil to apply texture paste to the corners of your paper. Spread texture paste through stencil using palette knife.
  3. Sprinkle holographic embossing powder on to the texture paste when it is still wet
  4. Dry texture paste overnight and when dry use heat gun to melt embossing powder
  5. Cut florals from White glitter paper
  6. Glue flowers to the pattern paper but apply glue in the center of the flower only and lift the edges to create some dimension
  7. Cut 0.4 x 1.5 inches rectangle and stamp sentiment on it. Mount sentiment on foam tape and place on card. (I used HELLO, that has been written with my Cricut Explore)
  8. Add white holographic sequins for decoration
  9. Your card is complete!
