A little stitching goes a long way and can give your card that extra push from ordinary to extraordinary. Today I’m sharing an oldie but goodie remake of a card I made in 2023.
On the request of a client, I remade the card using pink thread. I switched the coloring medium from colored pencils to markers and I think it was definitely an upgrade (I’m not the best at coloring)
I used the magical crafting stamp from Simon Says Stamp and for some reason I could not find the bold greeting I used in the past to stamp “for you”. So I used the greeting stamp by CZ Design, which is so good!
I used an exacto knife to cut a defect in the top of the card and ran my tracing tool along it. I then pierced the holes with my Tim Holtz craft pick. I used a mini glue bottle to glue embroidery thread from the needle, along the stamped line of thread to the base of the defect then began stitching in a cross cross pattern along the defect. I used a piece of tape to secure the thread at the back of the panel once the stitching was complete.
I cut the name with my Cricut from pink glitter cardstock and adhered to the front of the card.
I adhered the card panel to a card base and that’s it!
So next time you’re not sure what your card really needs, maybe it just needs a little thread. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
