Spellbinders – Birthday Celebration Collection – Stitched Fanfare Die Set

Hello lovelies,

What a pleasure it is to have you stop by. Today I am sharing a special card from the Spellbinders Paper Arts new Birthday Celebration Collection Release! To be honest, this release has SO MANY exciting and fun dies. A few of my favorites are the Color Block Balloons, the Stylized Happy Birthday, the Stitched Fringe Cake and the die I will be showing you today, the Stitched Fanfare background die.

The card I am sharing today is quite simple but has such a big impact. You can change the mood of the card just by changing your thread colors and you can even use this die as a background without stitching.

I cut the Stitched Fanfare Die three times, once from Bazzil Diamond Cardstock, and twice from 110 lb white cardstock. I glued the white cardstock pieces to the back of the Bazzil die cut. This provides a very sturdy panel for stitching.

I used the following numbers (colors) in DMC threads, 563, 3855, 445, 818 and 760 and I used 6 strands in each hole. Using this much strands makes it just a bit more difficult to push the needle through as you finish each arch but I prefer this look as it it more fluffy and full. You can use 3 strands as well which will fit comfortably.

I mounted the finished card front on the card base using thin pieces of foam tape and finished the card off with a large vellum sentiment strip, gold alphabet thickers and clear sentiment stickers (on pink cardstock) from American Crafts. I folded the vellum strip so that it would be doubled and placed 2 folded pieces of cardstock at the ends to hold the vellum in place. I added thin foam strips behind vellum, ensuring they were directly hidden by the letters and sentiment strips.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy this collection and the inspiration on my blog.
